Job Overview:

ATMI is seeking a Senior Scientist to develop new products and create intellectual property as it relates to semiconductor cleaning applications. You will also troubleshoot and provide solutions for customer issues and problems as a member of multiple product development teams. This position will report to the Manager of Research and Development and will be located in Danbury, Connecticut.

Primary Responsibilities:

Lead a project team to develop new formulation products to meet customer process solution needs;

Meet technical project milestones and work with project/product managers to drive new products through the New Product Introduction (NPI) funnel;
Utilize high throughput screening methodology;
Communicate effectively with customers and cross-functional teams around the globe;
Coordinate interactions with cross-functional teams such as Combinatorial Solutions, Analytical, Applications, Manufacturing, Marketing and Sales;
Represent ATMI at technical conferences;
Develop innovative technology and create intellectual property on new products and ideas;
Coach and mentor team members to perform at higher levels through a positive, interactive style;
Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as necessary;
Maintain safe working environment;
Ability to travel up to 10%.
Education/Experience:

B.S., M.S. or Ph.D. in chemistry, organic chemistry, analytical chemistry, physical chemistry or material science;

5+ years of experience in chemical formulations development or semiconductor related cleaning applications;
Interfacial science knowledge and experience with respect to solid/liquid interactions;
Understanding of formulation target requirements such as cost limitations, materials impact on manufacturing processes, and toxicity and environmental safety;
Experience with combinatorial chemistry highly desired;
Project management experience, with a track record of planning, driving and executing projects;
DOE experience;
A proven track record of developing intellectual property;
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to develop and present technical materials to internal and external customers.
