Description:

The person in this role will play an important function in a fast-paced business environment where individual employees take ownership. We are looking for an Internet-savvy writer/blogger to spearhead new media initiatives that drive greater brand awareness and traffic to our corporate web site.

Responsibilities:

Develop our blogging strategy to leverage the power of Web 2.0 trends and technologies to build conversations with key stakeholders

Coordinate our blog and podcast production and promotion

Conduct interviews and polls

Monitor blog coverage of Alchemy and industry trends and competitor/partner communications

Conduct outreach to bloggers, newsgroups, and other online organizations

Write content for microsites, email campaigns, RSS, blogs and magazines

Must be able to coordinate blogging initiatives with our Integrated Marketing Plan ensuring effective brand awareness and marketing performance objectives are executed to support ongoing marketing and media campaigns

Ability to stay current with RSS technology news, business blogging strategies, corporate communications, podcasting applications, as well as blog design and navigation

Qualifications:

First and foremost, the ideal candidate is strong, engaging writer with a flair for persuasive communication and a passion for blogging. Other qualifications include:

Have at least 2 years of marketing and/or journalism experience

Outstanding publication skills: spelling, grammar, and punctuation, plus proofreading and copy editing capabilities

Self-starter with experience in the alternative energy industry and a background of marketing using the Web, preferably using Web 2.0 techniques

An enthusiastic, technophile who can work with multiple internal constituents including Product Development, Marketing, Product Marketing, Training, and Executive Management to gather, package and promote interesting and relevant content
